Read Across America Day - Franklin 2013

The Children’s Center held its annual Read Across America Day on February 28 in Franklin. Read Across America celebrates the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Members of the Franklin Rotary Club, Franklin Lions Club, and Franklin-Southampton Chamber of Commerce read to children at the Texie Camp Marks Children’s Center, the Franklin Head Start Center, and the Franklin Early Head Start Center. Suffolk Head Start

This is one of the eight locations of the Children’s Center. It offers the Head Start program, for which families can apply based on income and other eligibility requirement. The Children’s Center is a nonprofit agency focused on birth to age 5 in Western Tidewater, Virginia.
