The Smithfield Head Start Center held a transition ceremony and field day for the children who will be moving on to kindergarten in the fall. It was a fun day for the children and parents!

The Children's Center location at 507 Third Avenue in Franklin was renamed the "Barbara S. Mease Children's Center at the Jones House" on Thursday, April 14. The building was named for Mease, the original executive director of the Children's Center, and for the Jones Family, who donated the building to the Children's Center back in 1983.
