Rosalind Cutchins, Executive Director

Rosalind has been with the Children’s Center since 1981 and is a founding staff member. She served as Program Director and was selected as the Center’s second Executive Director in 2013. She is also the Local System Manager for the Infant and Toddler Connection of Western Tidewater and is credentialed as a Service Coordinator and as a Developmental Services provider. Rosalind is the Chair of Smart Beginnings Western Tidewater. She is a graduate of Longwood University and has a master’s degree with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Janet Owen, Operations Director

Janet has worked at the Children’s Center as the Finance/Operations Director since 1990. Previously, she worked as an accountant for Planters Peanuts in Suffolk for nine years. Janet graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Tamie Rittenhouse, Head Start Director

Tamie, who has served the Children’s Center since 1989 in several positions, and leads the Head Start and Early Head Start programs. She is also the Chair of the Suffolk Early Childhood Development Commission. Tamie earned a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Old Dominion University and a bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders from Old Dominion University.

Anne Bruehl, Director of Health

Anne, who has served the Children’s Center since 2010, is the Director of Health, including Mental Health and Disability Services. She has a Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Florida, and a B.A. in Psychology from the College of William & Mary. Anne is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) and is licensed by the Virginia Department of Education. In addition, she is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with the Virginia Board of Psychology.

G. Lee Taylor, Director of Early Childhood Education

G. Lee has served the Children’s Center since 2009. She has a B.A. in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is also a licensed teacher in Virginia (pre-k through third grade) and North Carolina (birth through kindergarten) and is certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Early Intervention Specialist.

La’Kisha Jones, Center Based Coordinator, Suffolk Children’s Center

LaKisha, who has been with the Children’s Center since July 2015, has a masters degree in Human Services from Liberty University and a bachelor's degree in Business. She has served as a Center Director for over 10 years at non-profit and for-profit childcare centers.

LaTosha Russell, Center Based Coordinator, Suffolk Head Start Center

Latosha joined the Childrens Center in 2016. She is a graduate of Virginia State University with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and Ashford University with a master’s degree in K-3 Education.

Angie Harbin, Center Based Coordinator, Texie Camp Marks Center, Barbara S. Mease Center, & Southampton Head Start Center

Angie is the Center-Based Coordinator for the Texie Camp Marks Center, Barbara S. Mease Center, and Southampton Head Start Center. She joined the Childrens Center in 2017. Angie earned an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, a B.A. in Early Childhood Education, and a Certificate in Special Education-Severe and Profound. She is also a licensed special education teacher.

Regina Crawley, Site Supervisor/Center-Based Coordinator, Pruden & Smithfield Children's Centers

Regina joined the Childrens Center in 2017. She has an AAS in Early Childhood Education from Northampton Community College and will graduate in December 2018 from Regent University with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education. Regina has over 20 years experience in early childhood education.

Sandra McNally, Site Supervisor, Barbara S. Mease Children’s Center at the Jones House

Sandra has been with the center since 2013. She earned a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Old Dominion University and is pursuing a masters degree in Special Education from Cambridge College.

Ana Filpo, Site Supervisor, Suffolk Head Start Center

Ana has been with the Childrens Center since 2015. She is a graduate of Lanier Technical College in 2007 and is currently enrolled at Tidewater Community College to continue her education in the Early Childhood Education field.

Pat Ellsworth, Site Supervisor, Southampton Head Start Center

Pat has been a lead teacher and teacher, and site supervisor at the Childrens Center since 2006. Pat has an associate's degree in Early Childhood Development and a certificate in Child Care I and II.

Benay Patrick, Site Supervisor, Suffolk Children’s Center

Benay began with the agency in August 2013. Benay has an associate’s degree in Science from Tidewater Community College and is currently a student at Norfolk State University pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She also has several years of managerial experience in the childcare field.

Nekae Wells-Banks, Site Supervisor, Smithfield Children’s Center & Smithfield Head Start Center

Nekae joined the Childrens Center in 2015 as a lead teacher. She has an associate's degree in Human Services and Early Childhood Development and is pursuing a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Liberty University.
